Progressive and growth-focused telecommunications company located in west-central Illinois is seeking a highly motivated individual to be part of their energetic and passionate leadership team.  We are seeking an experienced CFO to be responsible for the financial operations of Adams Telephone Co-Operative, and Mid Century Telephone Cooperative.  The companies are highly regarded providers of telephone, internet and business communications services to thousands of homes and businesses in over 60 communities including Golden, Fairview, Canton and Quincy, Illinois areas.

The CFO position is responsible for the administrative and financial management of the companies and all subsidiaries.  This includes the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to the strategy and ongoing development and monitoring of systems and processes designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.  As the CFO, you must be creative, strategic, and have exceptional communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in formulating future direction and supporting tactical initiatives and provide status and updates as needed
  • Provide financial planning and analysis and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations
  • Monitor expenditure cost controls, forecasted revenues and anticipate changes that may impact prior forecasts
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements and special reports
  • Review all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, in line with company reporting requirements
  • Develop and maintain capital and operational budgets and forecasts
  • Manage company’s regulatory affairs with the FCC, ICC, USAC, NTIA and other regulatory bodies
  • Oversee cash flow planning, investment and asset management
  • Manage and supervise the finance staff and ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures
  • Coordinate audits and proper filing of federal and state tax returns
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions

 

Education & Experience

  • Eight or more years of experience in a similar CFO or Controller role including a minimum of five years of supervisory experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business administration, or equivalent business experience
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a Master’s Degree and/or the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Telecommunications experience desired with particular emphasis on FCC Part 32 and 64 accounting rules
  • Strong finance, FCC and GAAP accounting background
  • Knowledge of practices and procedures utilized in successful rural broadband companies or an equivalent entity
